Glow-in-the-dark and UV kandi ideas

Glow beads and UV-reactive beads are different things. Glow-in-the-dark beads charge in light and glow softly for an hour in the dark; UV-reactive beads only light up under a black light and are far brighter while they do. Most night stages have UV somewhere, so UV-reactive lime, orange, and pink are the beads that actually perform.

The trick with black letter beads: under UV they disappear, so a GLOW MODE bracelet becomes a pure glowing loop at night and reads as a phrase again in daylight. Cream letters do the opposite and glow as text. Pick the effect you want.

Tiles for night wear should have one glowing color on a dark background. A lime zigzag on black or cyan stars on ink read from across a crowd; a rainbow tile under UV becomes a smear.

Glow-in-the-dark beads fade after an hour. UV-reactive beads light up every time they pass a black light, all night. Buy UV for festivals.

Charge glow beads on purpose

If you do use glow beads, hold them under a phone flashlight for a minute before the lights drop. They charge fast and fade slow.

One glowing color per tile

A single UV lime on black is a lightning bolt. Three UV colors is a blur. Night tiles need a dark background and one accent.

What kandi beads glow under black light?

UV-reactive or “neon” pony beads, usually lime, orange, pink, and yellow. Check the packaging for UV or blacklight; ordinary bright beads do not react.

Do glow-in-the-dark kandi beads work at festivals?

For about an hour after charging. UV-reactive beads are the better choice for a full night; the recipes here are built around them.

What letter beads should I use for glow kandi?

Black letters vanish under UV and reappear in daylight, which is a nice effect. Cream letters glow as text. Either works; avoid colored letters.
